English Second Language Strategies For Teaching Irregular Plural Noun Morphological Inflection

Nouns are one basic component of the syntactic category English language because they can be used as subjects, direct objects, indirect subject complements, object appositives, or adjectives sentences. Transforming regular nouns from singular to plural forms is comprehensible since usual patterning used. Converting irregular causes difficulties non-native learners conversion does not follow patterning. The study examined second strategies for teaching noun morphological inflection Grade 8 learners. researcher a quantitative research design results could analysed mathematically and statistically. A probability technique was randomly sample 25 participants whose ages ranged 14 16 at Ndaedzo Secondary School in Limpopo Province, South Africa. statistical Package Social Sciences version 22 utilised interpret findings. Initially, were incompetent this regard but after utilising ‘irregular plurals reversi memory game’, movement game’ strategies, learners’ performance improved remarkably. recommends using games.
